I am so excited to be doing another Women’s Season! I have spoken with amazing people and their stories are utterly beautiful. There’s no other way to describe them. I’m going to leave you with snippets from Kaushay’s wonderful episode:

“Are you gonna believe that you’re really not good enough for the opportunities that have been given you? Or are you going to step up, believe that you have worked hard enough to earn this, and then keep growing?”

“I could accept my blackness for what it is, because it has colored my life, it has changed the experiences that I’ve had, and I will never discredit that. But also to recognize that that is not all I have to offer the communities that I choose to be a part of.”

“That was a huge victory for me, to recognize that I had overcome this prejudice and not just by like, thinking, I’m accepting that I don’t have good hair. But saying, No, I have amazing hair. I have amazing hair that can wear extensions. I have amazing hair that if I want a different hairstyle ever couple months, I can do that, and still take it out at the end of the day and have what’s grown out of my head be just the way it is.”

“We always talk about having empathy for others, but we don’t always talk about having empathy for ourselves. At least I know in my own life I have not allowed myself to feel the feelings that my soul and my body want me to feel.”
