I couldn’t be a princess; I had to be a hero.

For this episode, Janely Martinez joins me on the show. She owns her own salon in Orem Utah, Chismosas Studio

Janely was raised by a single mom and discusses this a bit in the episode. One of my favorite lines from her is “I couldn’t be a princess; I had to be a hero.” That is so important and relevant to all of us as women. You cannot rely on anyone to save you. You have to save yourself. You have what it takes to be your own hero.

We also mention how amazing Brené Brown is and you should definitely watch/listen to/read her stuff.

One of the biggest things I hope you take away from this episode is to just be you. Don’t ever try to be something you’re not. Just do you. And love that. In You are a Badass, by Jen Sincero, she ends every chapter the same way, and it’s perfect.

“Love yourself.”
