"Journey 333" with Travis Barnes Kayleen Jean Johnson

Travis is such a lively, fun person to talk with. He has overcome a lot in his life. He gives just a few glimpses into it all in this episode of Scars We Share. He ended up addicted to drugs, an he talks about a few experiences he had surrounding that. As he mentioned in the episode, when you’re addicted to something, you have a hard time setting boundaries. That lead to him being incarcerated for 10 years for a non-violent drug offense.

Fitness has always been important to him, so he leaned into that before, during, and after his incarceration. He went from helping fellow inmates get into shape to being a franchisor of his own company. Talk about overcoming. And leaning in.

One of the things that I loved that he brought up; what are we marinating in at night? What do you do before bed at night that are then spending 6-8 hours (hopefully) marinating in? Is it catching up on emails? Is it scrolling through your social media? I know there is a lot of room for improvement for me in this aspect. I challenge this in the episode and I am really doubling down on it. I challenge you to end your day with gratitude. Go to bed marinating in gratitude and see what it does for you.

Love to you all!
