Yoga Instructor

Christy is a strong Columbian born mom of two, yoga instructor, and all-around wonderful human.

Loss is... there’s really no words that can adequately describe what it is like to experience a deep loss. If you have experienced it, you understand. It is emotionally taxing and can take a physical toll on your body. Some days you do okay, and then other days you feel like you’re drowning. I love this quote by Vicki Harrison

“Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim.”

Seriously. Some days it takes all you have just to keep afloat. It’s okay to have days like that. It’s okay to feel hopeless. It’s okay to hurt. It’s not fun. It sucks. Because it DOES hurt. I mentioned how it can take a physical toll. When you experience a deep loss, it can often manifest into real, physical pain.

Sometimes you need to let yourself have a big cry. Let the tears flow until there is nothing left. Sometimes you need someone to talk to and lean on. Sometimes you need a distraction.

When you are in the depths of heartache and pain, whatever it is causing it, I hope that you will take the time to listen to yourself. Listen to your body. Figure out what you need, and fulfill that need. Doing that over and over again will help you feel better over time.

And love yourself. Forever and always.
