I could share a lot of the same statistics from last week on this one. Mental health and alcohol/substance abuse are intertwined a lot of the time. When you don’t have the tools to help you get through hard times, it’s easy to turn to a substance to numb you. Getting through hard times is rough. It hurts and is painful. Who wants to feel hurt and pain?
But as we talked about in this episode, cliche or not, is you don’t know the good unless you’ve had the bad. And when you focus on the good, the more good you see.
Whatever you have going on right now, try to focus on the good. Start simple. Write down something you’re grateful for every day. Once you start thinking about things to be grateful for, the more things you will be grateful for.
And, as always, be kind. Love others. Love yourself.
