Suicide is a huge problem in our country. Throughout the world, even. About 800,000 people die by suicide each year. And it is preventable! Completely preventable! If you are having thoughts of suicide—suicide ideation—please get help. Reach out to a trusted friend or family member. Contact a health care professional in your area.

Especially for the men out there who struggle with mental illness. According to apa.org, men in America are four times more likely to die by suicide than women. Four times! That’s a substantial difference and it’s extremely unfortunate. And again. Completely preventable.

Keep an eye on the people around you. If you can, get QPR certified so you know the signs to look out for. And please, if you’re struggling. Get help. Reach out. There’s always the suicide hotline and text line.
