JJ lives in California and is a actor. We, again, met at BYU in the theatre program.

I will admit to being a bit naive/ignorant when it comes to the transgender experience. It’s something I’ve never experienced or connected with, because I am a heterosexual, cisgender woman. Talking with JJ was so wonderful and eye-opening. Listening to others, really listening, can really open us up to more understanding and greater love.

JJ talks mostly about his transition—specifically his top surgery and how exactly he went down that road. He also talks about where he is now. He is a lovely person to talk with and his story is wonderful. If you’ve never heard anything or anyone talk about their transgender experience, you need to give this a listen.

Bind Safely

If you’re uncomfortable in your body and feel the need to bind yourself, please be safe and get an actual binder. Improper binding can cause irreparable harm.
I don’t want you to hurt yourself.

Point of Pride provides free binders to those who can’t afford them. They also accept donations, so they can continue to provide this service.
