Steve and I have been friends for about 10 years now. He’s fun and a super talented voice actor. Many people know him as Warky the Chocobo. He’s just Steve to me. He lives in California with his husband Preston, who is also a pretty awesome person.
Steve has had to go through so much stuff simply because he is gay. That’s a problem. You shouldn’t treat people different based on their sexual preferences. It’s just not okay.
When I asked him what allies could do to help the LGBT community, his answer surprised me. Wear a rainbow. A pin, a bracelet, something. Wearing the rainbow symbol will easily let anyone from the LGBT community know that you are safe. You are a safe person to talk to. They have a safe space with you. It’s unfortunate that that even needs to be a thing, but here we are.
