Wow. Liz’s story just blew me away. Another woman I’d never met before meeting up to record! I am in constant awe at the vulnerability and openness of these women who have been on the show! I know I am asking a lot of these women to share their stories like this and I have been so impressed with each and every one of them. I absolutely love this podcast and all of the amazing women that I have met through it.

Liz’s story of abuse is heartbreaking. And unfortunately an all too common one. As she mentioned in the episode, she went through all of the stereotypical abuse things. Which is awful. No one, NO ONE should have to go through what she went through. No one deserves that.

If you are in an abusive relationship, get out. It may be scary and one of the most difficult things you’ve ever done. But get out. For your safety. You deserve to be happy. No matter what you have been made to believe, You. Deserve. Happiness. And safety.

At the very basic level, you need to feel safe. You need to have a space where you can relax and be yourself and not live in a state of constant stress, anxiety, and fear. That’s not healthy. It’s not good for you. Please know that you are a wonderful human being who does not deserve to be abused. You deserve happiness.

If you feel trapped in an abusive relationship, it’s time to get help. Visit the National Domestic Violence Hotline to take the first step.

They have a chat option,
or you can call 1-800-799-7233

Please do whatever you need to do to get away.
You deserve better.
