Courtney Newman joins me in this episode. We know each other from the BYU theatre program. She talks about a run-in with her immersion blender (blech) and a knee surgery.

Her internal scar was difficult and caused a lot of heartache. She discusses her ectopic pregnancy and the sadness it brought. Especially living in Utah County, where you constantly see pregnant women and babies, it makes ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage such a difficult thing to deal with.

As a little update on Courtney. Her pregnancy went well and she has an adorable baby boy!

Many women are encouraged not to divulge their pregnancies until they are 12 weeks along or more. That way if they lose the pregnancy, they don’t have to tell anyone. I really hope we can change that. Losing a pregnancy is hard. It sucks. That woman needs to mourn and have support.

Don’t ever feel like you can’t reach out and ask for help if you need it.
